# Slack

> Automate meeting summaries and get pre-meeting briefings directly in Slack.

The Caret Slack integration keeps your team informed by posting summaries to channels and providing personal briefings via DM.

## Setup

1. Go to **Settings > Integrations** in the Caret app.
2. Click **Connect** next to Slack and authorize the bot.
3. Configure channel-specific automations in Caret.

## Features

### Automated Updates

Post meeting notes to specific Slack channels based on folders or meeting types.

* **Summaries**: Post a concise summary with the full transcript as a thread.
* **Custom Prompts**: Define what info gets posted (e.g., only "Action Items").

### Pre-Meeting Briefings

Receive a DM from the Caret bot 5-10 minutes before your meeting starts, including a pre-reading link and context from previous calls.

### Ask @Caret

Mention `@Caret` in any channel where the bot is present to query your meeting history.

* *Example*: "@Caret what were the next steps from yesterday's sync?"
* *Example*: "@Caret has anyone mentioned 'security' in recent calls?"

### Tailored Notifications

Customize Slack notifications for different audiences—high-level summaries for announcement channels and technical breakdowns for sync channels.
